4 out of 10 movie news and reviews

Mon, 12 May 2008 15:23:12 PDT
A movie review, news and rumours website that doesn't matter if it offends anyone. For anyone who believes that every film is flawed, no matter how good. Video animated reviews with a smiley representation of the ranting man himself. Everything written with a sarcastic undertone. There's nothing wrong with the lowest form of wit.

I wonder how much John McCain’s mom got paid to raise him up

Sun, 11 May 2008 08:01:40 PDT
For those of you who read my blog entry yesterday about the state-owned CBC Newsworld’s coverage of Mother’s Day, here’s a YouTube video to help turn your frown upside down. (Yesterday the apparently obsessed with socialism CBC saw fit to bring up the issue of how much moms should be paid (by the state, presumably) for the “work”—the hitherto “unpaid labor”—of raising a family… or what some of us in the sensible set might call “life”. I suppose that’s how socialists view life—and motherhood—a

May 12, 2008 Stock Market Recap

Mon, 12 May 2008 16:29:44 PDT
Buyers really seemed to be on a mission today as they took the market up from the open and pretty much never looked back. The one problem with today’s impressive price gains was that volume was on the light side. The big tests I see coming are the indices at their 200-day moving averages. I think we’ll need much more volume to make it through those important resistance lines. We saw how the Dow failed at its 200 DMA last week. It looks like the Nasdaq is going to try its luck with its 200 DMA

What the Times Didn't Tell You About Steampunk

Mon, 12 May 2008 07:00:43 PDT
You'll recall Thursday's NY Times article about the fashionable new steampunk aesthetic, which dwelled primarily on the neo-Edwardian clothing with a nodding references to the movement's literary origins in science fiction and fantasy from the 1980s and '90s. Now we find out that this article was the paper's second pass at explicating steampunk, as freelance journalist Richard Morgan (a completely different entity, it would appear, than the science fiction writer) reveals an article the Times s

Jon Stewart Must Have Read Our Blog

Mon, 12 May 2008 07:02:51 PDT
As he might say, just kidding. However, I was struck by the similarity between his comments on blogging and some of what we discussed in here in the post, Are Us Bloggers to be Trusted? Here are some excerpts: David: “I think that the good ones (bloggers) are helping to expand democracy and give more people acces

New kind of beetle found! By CBC staff!

Fri, 25 Apr 2008 02:21:19 PDT
New kind of beetle found! By CBC staff! Staff on the state-owned CBC Newsworld, where, suspiciously like Fox News Channel’s O’Reilly Factor, “The Spin Stops Here”! (-- or is that just on their “Politics” program?) apparently discovered the new creature. They called it the “GREENHOUSE BEETLE”. Most other people, like the folks at the National Post, which features the little bugger on their front page today, call it the Mountain Pine Beetle. Labcoats call it Dendroctonus Ponderosae. Bu
